The "V-Rider" is an innovation of modifying the company’s existing motorcycles with the installation of ‘valve key’on motorcycles. This allows the leakage verification team to reach a location fastandturn-off the water valve to stop water loss and carry out immediate repair works. Indirectly, this innovation minimizes the duration of water interruption for consumers as well as reduceswater wastageor Non- Revenue Water (NRW)loss.
Another innovation introduced is the modification of the existing company motorcycle for a “Q-Rider".The motorcycle is installed with a thermal insulated storage box to keep sample bottles, ice packs and sampling accessories to conduct water quality tests at site or premises to address water quality complaints. In addition, Q Riders can also conduct water quality analysis after pipe repair works. Through this innovation, water quality issuesare addressed and responded to quickly and efficiently.
To further improve the effectiveness of providing relief water supply to consumers affected by water interruption, all water tankers are now equipped with GPS tracking devices. With this device, the water tankers’ movements, the number of trips and location are better managed viaa personal computer or smart phone.
Air Selangor has also beefed up its assets with the procurement of 57 rugged pickup trucks to undertake operational and maintenance works of its water distribution networks. The pickup trucks help technicians to access remote areas to detect leaks, undertake repairs and regular maintenance work on the water distribution networks.
Air Selangor will continually initiate improvements to better serve its consumers in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.
